The PSOB reminds me of something we have in Texas: Peace Officer Crime Victim Compensation Fund. Never heard of it before I injured my shoulder wrestling a suspect to the ground. It was a minor injury, so I didn’t qualify for the fund, but it’s crazy that we have this massive fund that barely any cops know about. We just don’t see ourselves as victims of crime, even when someone assaults us. It’s just seen as baked into the job for most of us.
