Very good analysis, Roland! I wish it was surprising to me that no one else is talking about the stuff that we are all putting forward, but it’s not. More frightening than the police takeover’s for the smaller agencies by the state agencies, is that this is directly out of the Obama era model for policing based on a national police force hypothesis.
As a change agent, author, and police influencer, aren’t these fun times to live in?
These are fun times in that way! At least we don't have to fear running out of content. Even the ACLU and the NAACP don't understand that once home rule is gone, it will take a generation to get it back - if ever.
So true... I’m putting the second episode of the podcast out today where I look at some of this stuff. At some point, I’d love to work out a time to get you on for an interview!
I’ve been saying for a decade that the goal of the left is to create a national police force (Obama and others have stated this is what they want). I think what we are seeing is a foundation being laid to facilitate that to happen in the future.
I think that is one of the key concerns. Since 2009, seeds of doubt have been planted in the form of statements like 'we all know bias exists' 'we don't know how many people are killed by police every year' ' I don't know all the facts, but I believe the police acted stupidly.' I've subscribed to Drug Intelligence Bulletin and look forward to reading more of your work.
Great article, thanks for posting. After 2020 with the summer of fury and proclamations all over the country to defund the police, we see the direct results of these radical ideas. Austin is an absolute mess - trying to be like San Francisco.

That sounds wonderful. I'll connect with you regarding that.

Thanks Roland. I came across your feed and you're putting out great content. Keep up the good work.
Great article, sad also, but true. Prayers for all LE in the United States of America. 🇺🇸

Well said Mike. These actions are part of a disturbing trend and in some cases will require more than a generation to recover home rule.
